You know the feeling of leaving the hair salon feeling "Hot"? About 80% of how we like our hair when leaving the salon is based on how our hair got styled. You might of had the hair stylist where you just aren't quite sure what he/she was thinking, or you just love the way they get your hair to look. Well can I tell you a stylist secret to getting the best style... it's all in the blow drying.
How are you doing your hair once you step out of the shower? If you just let it air dry totally you won't get the that extra lift you want or fix those cowlicks. One thing I always do is I do let my hair air dry to about half wet half dry feel. Unless I'm in a hurry I'll start blow drying right out of the shower. If you let your hair air dry a little it can help on preventing heat damage to your hair. Where you want to focus on is your roots. Make sure that you don't let them air dry all the way, because that's where you are going to control on where you get your lift and fullness in your hair. If you have thick hair just worry about getting your roots dry then you can let the mid shaft of your hair to your ends air dry the rest of the way. They will dry faster once your roots are dry.
When drying your hair it's important to use products in your hair before you start. If you are really focusing on the extra lift make sure your using a booster at your roots. If your hair ends are split or dried out, first of all schedule a haircut to get your hair healthy, then use a aragan oil at you ends only. This will also make it easier to maybe round brush your hair because you'll have that extra slip in it.
Blow dry your hair the opposite direction that you wear it. flip sections of your hair up and over and get your roots dry. Make sure your blow dryer is set at the medium temperature setting so your not burning your hair...and make sure you're not holding the blow dryer too close to your head. For cowlicks, just use your brush with your blow dryer and brush and smooth it out with the heat. It's best too to use a heat protectant in your hair before blow drying. How you let your hair dry to going to determine on how your hair will look. Happy Blow Drying!
