Save Your Hair

Change is coming to the services I provide for my guests. It's a popular trend going around and can save the condition your hair. I'm now offering hair extensions! I am very excited about this and hope you can have fun with it as well. I've been certified in the bead-in hair extensions and I would love to work with you to achieve the look your wanting.

Bead-in extensions are not as damaging as the bond extensions and can last quite awhile if taken care of properly. There are so many ways to have fun with extensions. You can use them to help with thickness in your hair; if you've been experiencing a thinner side on to your hair. Of course you can add them to give you the length you've been desiring. Also one way to use them that you might not have thought of is for a change in hair color as a add-on.

If you love the look of the peek-a-boo look but your not wanting to color your hair and damage it we can put in a good tone/color for you. This can also go for help with the Ombre' fad that is going on. Adding some beautiful color to your ends through extensions. This way when you're getting your Ombre' you won't have to worry about lightening your ends so intensely.

Another fad that is going on is the pastel colors for some extra fun! The pinks, blues, purples, etc. you can achieve without putting your hair through so much trouble and money. Sometimes in order to have these fun pastel colors you have to lighten your hair as much as possible, but by adding a bead-in hair extension you will save your hair and time of coming into the salon.

Call to make an appointment for a consultation so we can discuss what is best for your hair. I look forward to talking with you about this.

Elegance and Class

When it comes to make up it's always fun to switch it up a bit. Especially with the seasons you can play around with new and fun ideas for the season. This Fall it seems like the vampire fever is taking over everywhere. If your like me I'm a little sick of people having this obsession. It has lasted way to long, but I do like these fun colors for your next night out could be fun.

The color that everyone is talking about is Wine color. It is very rich and classy looking. A trend going on that InStyle Magazine says is having Wine lips. I do admit that it is bold and can scare some of you to try because of how dark it is, but I was thinking that you know what tis the season for lots of parties and get togethers.   This time of the year there's usually parties to go to that you yourself will get more glammed up for than you do in the Summer. Why not glam up your lips as well, or if your nervous about your lips try your nail polish this color.

Another look that is fun for special occasions is the time less red lip. Not everyone can necessarily pull this off. I love this look and it does take practice to achieve the flawless lip. The trick for it is to use a lip liner that is the same color as your lipstick. Go around the edge of your lips without getting on the skin, but here's the trick don't stop with just a thin line of liner. In order to pull off these dark color lips and especially the red lips what you'll want to do is color in your lips with the liner. I recommend not your whole lip but you want to color them in a little so your outline is a nice thick line. Then rub your lips together and apply your lip stick. After that you might want to blot you lips with a tissue. Fold it in half and with just your lips put the folded tissue across your lips and quickly close and open your lips on the tissue. This of course is an old trick from way back, but it helps to make sure your lip color doesn't get on your pearly whites. I guarantee that this will make it a ton easier to accomplish your look, but like I said practice makes perfect.

The Fall Crop

I told you all I would keep you up to date on the trends for this Fall and what looks hot! Well this one is all about fun and can add perk to your style. I'm talking about the Pixie Cut.

There are many different styles on pixie cuts and when it comes down to it it all determines how you style it. Pixie cuts are fun like I said and a quick easy style in the mornings. The type of pixie that is hot right now is the crop cut. If you watch TV you have probably been seeing this coming out with the celebrities. One celebrity that everyone is looking at is Ginnifer Goodwin. She is one of the first actress's that really got noticed for her crop pixie. She's on the TV series Once Upon a Time with her cute look. What she does is has her hair short in the back and  up around the ears, but it has a longer layer look for her cut that is textured with shears to give it the whispy look too. She keeps her fringe with a fun texture piecey look. I believe that you are wanting to go for this look the fringe makes the style.

Anne Hathaway also now has this crop look which is similar to what Ginnifer has is just more of her own style. Like I said the fringe can really make the look. Anne has a shorter fringe than Ginnifer with shorter layers on top. With this cut you can really make it your own by your style. It won't look the same on everyone. Your head shape has a lot to do with how pixies will look on you. Especially how the back of your head is shaped;   also the texture of your hair. Do you have curly coarse hair, or fine straight hair? This will all determine how your hair will look and how it will function once short.

The style that these actresses Ginnifer and Anne are doing is playing with the texture that their own hair is on it's own and what their stylist did as well. If towel dried hair take a pomade and piece it through the top of your hair then blow dry in all directions. Then finish with a spray of hairspray and piece your fringe. For a edger look try some texure paste through your fringe and top layers to spike them up more. Add some perk to your style with one of Fall's new looks the crop pixie!

Going Simple and Beauitful

The new trends are out for the fall season and I really like this one I am going to share with you. When I first saw this I just fell in love with the warm color and the general idea of it. Just so you all know that ombre is still a big trend, but what you need to know that there are different types on ombre. I will show you later the some of the different types of it.

For today though I will share this trend. It is so simple, but gorgeous. This warm auburn is very flattering on most people. It is just one color that is simple and shows us that the trends are really going back into the more natural look. This type of color for your hair can be an easy up keep and just help you look flawless. The main look comes from your stylist though. By them seeing what your hair needs to get that beautiful shine and healthy auburn look. Your stylist can really help you with recommending the right products for you to get your hair looking its best. As well to make your color look the best on you.

I love how we are going towards natural look for hair trends and bringing out are own beauty. If you don't already know I am all about embracing your own individual beauty. I defiantly recommend on hair color, to stay reasonably close to your natural hair color. Instead of going drastic changes that can damage your hair.

I would be more than pleased to help you with your hair. You can always contact me. My contact info is at the bottom of my blog. More fall trends coming soon.

Highlighting Fun

Sometimes our look needs something different. You might like the way your hair looks and be very happy with it, but still feel like you need a change. I have felt this way before where you love your hair, but to tell the truth you are a bit bored with it. Well, a fun way to have a bit of change this summer is adding a little color to your life.

Adding a pop of color to your look could be just what you need. You also don't need to add to much wear it changes to much. One of my clients this last week came in to get her color done. We normally just keep her blond highlights she already has with her natural brown hair, but we decided that she needed a little change. We ended up adding a little bit of red violet highlights to her hair what is just what she needed. What it did is just gave her a overall different tone of color to her hair. It's very pretty and when the sun hits her hair you can see the red in her hair come out.

Red is the new hot color trend going around, and you can start off small like I did with my client. It gives you a little of fun in your life for this summer, and the summer sun will help show off your hot new color. So play around with something different this season and have fun.

Secrets of Braiding

One look that has been back and keeps on growing is braiding. This look I love and always love to do when I am wanting to change up my hair style. There are so many different ways of braiding and how to wear them.

One of my favorite ways is to braid my bangs back when my hair is day old from washing. Braiding can be a little tricky at first, but it is true that practice makes perfect. Keep on practicing and it will become easier. Braids I feel are a pretty, earthy, casual style to have. Some secrets to braiding on their look is if you want a looser or the look of a thicker braid just pull it gently. What I mean by this is once you have your braid pull gently with fingers on both side of braid pulling at the same time on each loop. Pull as much as you want, this will give you the appearance of a thicker and bigger braid.

Another trick I do for whether your braiding your bangs back or all of your hair over whatever kind of braid you have I do this. Once your done braiding and you don't want your braid to fall out just tease it a bit. Take your comb and at the end of your braid push the hair up to the end of the braid, do this a couple of times. I guarantee that it will stay in if you tease it enough. I always do this and I don't have to worry about bobby pins or hair ties. If your braiding all of your hair over tease it then you can put a cut hair accessory at the end of it. Or sometimes what I do is I tease to hold the braid then tie it or pin it where I want to it to go then I will comb out the teasing. It's something that makes your life a little easier when doing your hair.

Have fun with the creative world of braiding, and be adventurous with different styles.

Color the Summer

Colors are so much fun to play around with, don't you think? Especially with spring and summer, there are tons of different colors that I love to bring out for these seasons. If you haven't caught on already try some fun bold colors for your nail polish.

Having a bold color on your toes and/or fingernails is one way to get some attention. Of course if you do both fingers and toes make sure they look good together. For me I feel prettier when my nails are done, and I feel a little bit more sassy. When I talk about nails I am meaning just your old fashion paint your nails at home, I love talking about colors. But I am more of a hair and make up kind of gal, I don't really know to much of the gels. Even though those look fabulous and you can also get fun colors in those too!

So anyways, my favorite color for nail polish right now is called mermaid tears. It's by OPI and I do love it, I have it on my toes. It's kind of a turquoise color, and it's bright and awesome is all I got to say. I am thinking of trying it on my fingers next.

Everyone, go out and get a fun new nail polish color for the season to show off. It will make your day a little brighter.

Messin' Around

Here's a fun style to do this season. The messy bun is easy to do when you have slept in or are just wanting your hair off your neck. It is rather simple to do and there are lots of different looks to it.

You first start off with a pony tail, you decided whether you want it on either side low, a low center ponytail. Now you can either pull your pony tail all the way through or just half way. This preference will probably determine on how thick or thin or hair is.

Then grab your bobby pins and start taking random pieces. When you take your pieces let them be loose and pin away. For the easiest bun is probably pulling your ponytail half way through and then taking some pieces and twisting them around your pony. The first time you will be figuring out what you like, but I promise you will love it.

You can either dress it up with a flower or other hair piece in your hair. Or dress it down by pulling out some pieces by the front of your ears. Have fun with this and see what works for you. Be adventurous this season by trying something new.

The Fun of Summer

I absolutely love this time of the year! It is gorgeous outside and the fashions are so fun! One fashion trend to do this year is Summer Dresses. They are all so much fun and flirty.

There are all different types of summer dresses to chose from depending on your body type. In Style Magazine is talking about what looks good on whom.

For us tall girls, we are recommended to have a dress that's just above the knee. The neck line for us that looks  the best and is cute is the high neck line.
On a personal note I love wearing Capri leggings with summer dresses or your favorite skinny jeans. That way you can still have fun with all of your summer activities and not have to worry about your dress riding up.

Shorter, petite girls are recommend about the same, but with more of a neck line that's not so high. To high of a neck line for you can make you look short.

If you have curves it's recommended that you show them off. Have your dress more fitting at your waist to help show them off the best.

Have fun this season with going out and getting a new dress to wear. There are so many different styles and cute colors to choose from.

Gettin' Dirty

When you have day old hair and don't know what to do with it, and you get frustrated. Don't worry I am about to give you some hair do's that work the best with dirty hair.

First thing first, when you take your shower for the day just rinse your hair with water. Doing this will help with oiliness. Even though it does not take out the oils it's rinsing some of them out and also helps with product you had in your hair the day before. While rinsing act as though your rinsing out conditioner. Let the water just run through your hair, and then gently scrub a little by your hair line and hair part. These places are the places normally get the most oily.

Second, I like to put in a volume curl mouse. That way it will help my hair with it's style for the day. Then blow dry your hair. Now there are a number of options to choose from on how you can wear your hair, but I will give you some easy ones at first.

Wavy hair is easy to have with day old hair, and your still able to have it down. Your hair will hold the wave better than if you did it when it's clean. This is one style that I always do for my second day hair. It's fun and flirty. My last hair tip will tell you exactly how to achieve wavy hair.

The braid is always a fun one to do and there are so many ways of doing braids. A simple one is to take your hair over to the side as a pony and braid it instead. Or if you want your hair down for the day braid your bangs back.

Rock your natural texture. Most people have their own natural wave or curl to their hair. If you have one go for it.
The biggest trend right now is to be natural looking. If you put mouse in your hair and just take your fingers and scrunch your hair lightly you can bring out your natural hair texture. Also with your going to do this let your hair mostly air dry. Then before it's all the way dry if you want you can take a diffuser it to dry it all the way. Now I know that my own hair on the top sometimes doesn't like to be as wavy as the rest of my hair. If you experience this what I do is take a curling iron the same size of curl that my natural is, and lightly curl big sections on the top. Then separate the curl always. Sometimes when we have our natural curl come out it can look frizzy. Use a little serum to help with this. I recommend the Argan 6 oil by Redken. You can find out more about this products under March's Products Tag on the right side of my blog.

Go experience some fun new ways to wear your hair. Also if you haven't followed my blog yet just read under the About Me section and it will tell you how. Then you can comment to me to let me know how things work for you.

Cuff Bracelets are One Fashion Must Have

If you haven't noticed lately Gold is making a statement these days. One of the best ways I like to wear it is on my wrist. I have come to love bracelets; you can wear them with almost anything.
The latest look for bracelets is the bold cuff bracelets. They can really add to your look by dressing anything up, and looking a little more flirty of a look. There are so many different styles of these cuff bracelets to choose from. I personally like the rose gold look, it is so pretty and modern looking. I am differently liking this fashion trend for this season.

These cuff bracelets are at Nordstorms. I am very tempted to go down to the new City Creek Center to go buy me one.

How to Have Wavy Hair

One of this springs hot new looks is the natural look. The look where it looks like you really didn't do much to get ready. I personally love this look and it is very beautiful. A natural look you can do is to put some simple waves in your hair. You can do this for both short or long hair; it looks cute for both.

First start with whatever size of curling iron you would like. Second, section your hair off by starting underneath and then while you finish that section take out more til done. Your sections a be big. Just if you have thick hair make sure when your curling your section that it isn't to big that the heat can't get to all of the hair.

One thing about curling hair is that you should not start curling at the bottom. Instead take your section and start in the middle of the section and curl up. Now, once you curl up slide your curling iron down so your then you will be at the bottom of the hair. When you take out don't pull! Be gentle and slowly take the iron out, then leave it. Once you have come to the top of your head to the sides. Curl these pieces outward, so the curl is not going into your face. This is more attractive and opens up your face.

When your done curling take a aerosol hair spray arms length away and spray your curls. (If your hair has a hard time keeping a curl you can spray each section as you go along). Then to fully achieve the natural wave take either your fingers or a brush and go through your curls. Once done finish off with a spray and have fun!
